Facilities Management Facilities Management is responsible for developing and maintaining the extensive physical campus and infrastructure, providing service-oriented support to students, faculty, staff and visitors, as a department of Administrative Affairs.

Facilities Management at HSU is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and operations for all of Humboldt State's facilities, grounds, and real estate operations.  The departmental units include Plant Operations, responsible for the operation of all HSU grounds and facilities (except Housing and the University Center), Facilities Planning & Real Estate, and Design & Construction.

  • The facility planning process includes project programming, feasibility, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Design services, code compliance and building standards procedures to ensure existing and planned facilities meet multiple requirements for public and CSU facilities.
  • Construction and management of capital projects for essential administration of capital projects within budget and on time, and with minimal disruption to the University and academic programs.
  • Health and occupational safety concerns are included in the existing and planned facilities environment.
  • The maintenance, repair and operations of the physical plant / facilities is an ongoing, daily responsibility which also includes response to facility and utility problems.

The office of Facilities Management is located in Feuerwerker House 13 on L.K. Wood Boulevard and Mill Street, north end of the main HSU campus.
