Real Experience Working in the Community

Humboldt State has always had a strong commitment to improving the community. It’s a tradition that began with our founding as a teacher’s college in 1913 and continues today.

HSU students often discover the rewards of working with the community through the Service Learning Center and clubs like the student-lead Youth Educational Services program. In fact, HSU students are so committed to community service, the campus has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll four times.

All that service adds up: last year students worked with more than 74 community organizations and contributed more than 73,000 hours of service.
