Both paradox and dichotomy are the fundamental aspects of my artwork. My subject matter deals primarily with containers and containment. Things inconsistent with common experience or having contradictory qualities fascinate me. Images and objects that are juxtaposed in an unusual or unexpected manner intrigue me.
My work is three-dimensional in form and sculpturally integrates real and illusionary space through the use of illusionism and distortion. It is intended to modify reality and encourage a viewers attempt to make logical connections between seemingly illogical or unrelated components. The work should be contemplated rather than interpreted, pose questions rather that provide answers, and encourage a viewer’s visual and intellectual interaction.
