Giving

Cal Poly Humboldt has a strong sense of community, and the many donors who help support our efforts are an important part of that community.

To ensure students continue receiving the highest-quality education possible, we recommend two key areas where donors can make the greatest impact:

  • Field-based learning, which is critical in preparing students for their careers by taking education beyond the classroom where they can apply their learning in a real-world setting. Nearly all of courses offered by the Geology department take students on field trips to investigate local and regional geology. Additionally, Geology BS students take a four week intensive field camp course in summer of their final academic year, and the department offers scholarships to help students fund their camp experience.
  • Student research, which is a valuable experience for students pursuing competitive jobs and post-graduate programs in the sciences. Your donation will support students to conduct field work, laboratory analysis, and present their work at national conferences like GSA, AGU and SSA.

With your support in these key areas, our students will have the skills they need to learn, grow, and secure employment as the next generation of problem-solving scientists.

Whether it is special learning opportunities like field trips or community service, access to new technologies, labs, or improved facilities, donors like you have the power to enrich the student experience at Cal Poly Humboldt.
