Where to Give - Special Projects & Programs

Humboldt State is home to a variety of programs beloved by students and the local community alike. Indeed, it's hard to imagine the Humboldt State experience without Center Arts, the library, KHSU, the First Street Gallery or the Natural History Museum. Students also benefit from several support programs that help them navigate the college experience successfully.

Center Arts
CenterArts brings the world's best performers to Humboldt State. The diversity and quality of cultural offerings through CenterArts is rare for a rural location. These programs are made possible through a partnership between the University and generous contributors. Visit Center Arts' Website »
Centers & Institutes
Our campus centers and research institutes enable our faculty to pursue leading edge research. They also provide opportunities for undergraduates to gain hand-on experience and work closely with faculty mentors. Humboldt State's centers and institutes include the world-renowned Schatz Energy Research Center, the Northern California Institute of Marine Sciences, the Index of Economic Activity, and many more. See the full listing of Centers & Institutes at HSU.
First Street Gallery blends educational curriculum and student involvement with service to the local community. First Street Gallery organizes and presents exhibitions with a special focus on contemporary art and receives over 19,000 visitors a year. Visit the First Street Gallery's Website »
KHSU-FM
KHSU is the most listened to radio station on the North Coast, providing a blend of local talk and NPR's finest programs. Visit KHSU.org »
Library
The academic heart of campus — our library —plays an invaluable role in every student's journey. Home to a collection of more than 538,000 books, 600,000 microforms, 25,000 audio-visual and non-print items, and over 2,000 print periodical and newspaper subscriptions, the library represents an essential resource for students, faculty and members of the local community. The Library also is home to the Humboldt County and University Archives collections and is the only active U.S. Government Depository between Ashland, Oregon and Santa Rosa, California.
