The recreation, tourism and leisure services industry is the largest and fastest-growing industry in the world. Humboldt State offers one of California's best programs in Recreation Administration — career-focused, hands-on learning in a natural setting that Outside magazine called a "Dream Town" for outdoor play.
Campus Tours

Starting at 9:00 am and departing every half-hour until 3:00 pm, our knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guides will help you become acquainted with our campus. Tours will also be available on Saturday, April 10 every half hour between 9:00 am and noon. (Length: 1 hour)
Housing Tours
9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Clocktower, University Center
Starting at 9:00 am and departing every 10 minutes until 3:00 pm, our knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guides will guide you through each of our residence halls. Tours will also be available on Saturday, April 10 every 10 minutes between 9:00 am and noon. (Length: 45 minutes)
In-Depth Science Tours
9:00am - 3:00pm
Clocktower, University Center
College of Natural Resource and Science Tours will be offered at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, Noon, 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. These tours will take a deeper look into the HSU Greenhouse, Fish Hatchery, Ocean Lab, and much more. Science Tours not available on Saturday (Length: 1 hour)
City of Arcata Guided Bus Tour
9:00 am - 3:00 pm (tour repeated at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, Noon, 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm)
Pick-up ticket at Clocktower, University Center (Space limited on each bus, get ticket early!)
Tour the town of Arcata with an expert. You will be guided around downtown Arcata and learn many historical facts about our little college town. Come learn about Arcata and have a great time!
Arcata Community Forest Hike
9:00 am – 3:00 pm (tour repeated at 10:00 am, 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm)
Pick-up ticket at Clocktower, University Center
Want to learn about the tallest trees in the world? Join HSU Forestry students and hike the our 600-acre forest right behind the HSU campus. Expect a few hills and wear your sturdy shoes. (Weather permitting)

Tickets will be available in the University Center Quad
Space limited, first come, first served! Limit of one class per student.
Sit-in on a real college lecture from a variety of HSU departments.
Professors ask that guests be respectful in classes they visit. Arrive on time, leave when class is officially over, and turn off cell phones.
Class could be full and some might only allow standing room or floor space. (Courses may be subject to change if a professor has to cancel class on this day.)

Advanced Guide to Registering for Classes at HSU
Humboldt Orientation Program (HOP)

Incoming freshmen at Humboldt State are required to participate in HOP. As part of HOP, students will be given the opportunity to register for classes from home in June. In this session, you will be given advanced access to registration materials to learn how it all works before June.
