Traditional aural teaching method for Celtic harp students of all levels interested in learning and performing together. The group will meet the first Saturday of the month for three 90 minute sessions each term.

Study and performance of jazz idiom instrumental music for jazz instrumentalists on sax, trumpet, trombone, bass, keyboard, clarinet, flute, violin and percussion. Stress on stylistic interpretations, jazz techniques, improvisation, and ensemble playing. Two years playing experience required.

theory, vocal technique, and ensemble performance.

Explore the styles of Second Line, Funk, traditional marching band, and
Brazilian Afro Bloc and Frevo traditions. All woodwind, brass, and
percussion instruments are invited to explore this groove-oriented music.
One year playing experience required. Course uses both written music and
rote memorization. Students bring their own instrument. Some percussion
instruments provided upon request.

A first ensemble experience for student instrumentalists. Reading ability and rhythmic independence are developed through rehearsals. Students should be studying privately.
