An electronic newsletter for alumni and friends of Humboldt State University
You can’t miss the latest addition to Humboldt State’s campus—all five stories and 84,000 square feet of it. The new Behavioral and Social Sciences (or “BSS”) building opened its doors this fall and will provide students, faculty, and staff with much-needed elbow room. Alumni are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony during Homecoming 2007.
Whether you are a Golden Graduate, an alum who has not been back to campus in a few years, a football fan, or simply someone who misses the eclectic experience of Humboldt County and Humboldt State University...there is something for you during the Homecoming 2007 weekend.
The Humboldt State University Alumni Association is welcoming nominations for its 2008 Distinguished Alumni Awards. Distinguished alumni are individuals recognized as leaders in their fields, and/or outstanding contributors to their community, nation, or Humboldt State University. Nominate someone today.
Here is an opportunity to let the Humboldt State University Alumni Association learn more about you and how we can better serve you. As an incentive for your participation, when you complete the survey, you will be entered into a drawing for a free iPod, an HSU sweatshirt, or an HSU mug.
The HSU Alumni Association will be sponsoring two $1000 scholarships for the spring 2008 semester. Applicants must be registered full-time students at Humboldt State University in an undergraduate, graduate, or credential program and have a qualifying relationship with an HSU alumnus(a).
The Humboldt Bay Paddlefest, an event conceived by the Humboldt State University Alumni Association, is celebrating its 5th year of success this fall on September 29 and 30. A premier West Coast paddling event for all skill levels, Paddlefest draws paddling enthusiasts from as far away as Seattle, Portland, Redding, and the Bay Area.
As we prepare to welcome our Golden Graduates as they return to campus for Homecoming, we wanted to share their memories of their time at Humboldt in their own words. We even dug up some yearbook photos!

Humboldt State’s newly-minted football team has its work cut out for it. Coming off the 2006 season, the team must live up to some very high expectations. Factor in that the Lumberjacks lost 23 seniors—many of them major contributors to last season’s success.
Then there’s this year’s schedule to consider….
