Getting Your Athletic Groove On

At HSU we’re more than a little proud of our 12 very competitive men's and women's California Collegiate Athletic Association sports teams – basketball, softball, football, rowing, soccer, cross country, volleyball, and track & field. We also know, however, that crushing other school’s athletes and/or donning body paint and screaming like a lunatic from the stands just doesn’t cut it for everyone. If that describes you, rest assured, there are still plenty of ways to get your athletic groove on. You can always join any of the five intramural sports – basketball, football, soccer, softball, and volleyball – or any of our eleven sport clubs, which include cycling, fencing, baseball, cheerleading, rugby, and Frisbee golf. HSU also boasts a brand-new state-of-the-art student recreational center – complete with a 46-foot indoor rock climbing wall, a fitness and strength-training center, an indoor field, and an all-weather running track and football field.

180 Clubs, 180 Ways to Get Involved

No matter what your interests, joining a club at HSU is a good way to get involved, meet other students and blow off some post-class steam. At Humboldt there are more than 180 clubs – there’s literally something here for everyone. Seriously. Geology club? Got that. Mountain biking club? Check. Snowboarding club? Totally. Zombie club? Of course.

You can visit the clubs Web site to browse the options, or just stop by the clubs office.
