Humboldt State University

Helping students along the path to graduation
and a career in sciences.

The land where Cal Poly Humboldt is located is part of the ancestral homeland (map) of the Wiyot people, who were here since time immemorial before this University was founded.  We acknowledge the history of this land and our indebtedness to the Wiyot and neighboring tribal communities.

INRSEP + Diversity in STEM

Humboldt's Indian Natural Resources, Science and Engineering Program (INRSEP) + Diversity in STEM house provides academic and research support services to historically underrepresented students in the Sciences, in order to support their academic success and degree completion, as well as connect them with the resources and opportunities to meet their career and graduate school goals.

McNair Scholars Program Humboldt

The McNair Scholars Program is one of the U.S. Department of Education's eight TRiO programs and is designed to prepare the scholars for graduate school. McNair scholars are academically strong undergraduate students who are either first-generation students with financial need or students who are a member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education. The McNair Scholars Program offers eligible students the opportunity to conduct faculty-mentored research, as well as travel opportunities and support during the graduate school application process. Scholars may come from any degree program that can lead to a doctoral degree. Unfortunately, we cannot support those seeking a professional degree (e.g., M.D, J.D., MBA, etc.).
