International English Language Institute Activities

Conversation Partners Every Frida from 3:00 - 5:00 PM Every Friday in the University Center South Lounge (under the Bookstore).  Come and practice your new English Skills with native speakers.  Come and meet HSU students who want to meet international students!
 Student Potluck in the Great Hall

4:00 PM

 Come get acquainted with other HSU students!  There will be different student groups on campus at the potluck who want to meet you!
 Old Town Eureka Photo Tour

4:00 PM 

 Learn to use the bus system and also take pictures of Old Town Eureka!  Bring a camera and comfortable shoes.

 Come and watch the second Captian American movie!  Bring your Student ID to receive student discount.

 Come to our second potluck and eat in the beautiful redwoods!

 Arcata Forest Hike with Conversation Partners

 Let's take a hike in the redwoods!  Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a camera.

 IELI Students and Host Family Beach BBQ Potluck

 IELI will provide the coals, so bring food for the BBQ!

 Come play laser tag in Eureka!  Take the RTS bus to Bayshore Mall and then we will walk to Cyber City, which is 5 minutes away!
 Student Potluck at Larson Park May 1 

 Our third student potluck will be at Larson Park in Arcata, which is behind the Skate park.  There are also tennis courts there, so if you have a tennis racket, bring it!

Potluck will be moved if it rains.

 Come and watch the second Spider-Man movie!  Bring your student ID to receive a student discount.
 Center Activities River Rafting on the North Coast May 4   Have a new adventure on one of Humboldt County’s beautiful rivers! $70 for HSU students. Program fee includes lunch, transportation, instruction, permit fees and river equipment. CENTER ACTIVITIES CAN ONLY TAKE A MINIMUM OF 7 STUDENTS AND A MAXIMUM OF 25 STUDENTS. Mandatory pre-trip meeting Thursday before each trip, 6pm RWC 108. DEADLINE to register is the Tuesday before each trip! Will be cancelled if there is not enough interest.
 Spring 2 Closing Ceremony

12:30 PM - 3:30 PM 

 Come and celebrate the end of Spring Session II! This will be a ceremony held in the University Banquet Hall, right next to the Depot. We will provide a delicious lunch for you to enjoy. Come for the awards ceremony, receive your Certificate of Completion, and pick up your writing books!
