Getting the Most from the New Moodle

Now that the deployment of Moodle 2.3 is complete, ITS is free to focus on helping the campus community to get the most out of the upgraded software. Read on for how you can get involved with ITS' Moodle improvement projects.

Moodle :: Integrating Clicker Use

Classroom response systems (clickers) have been shown to dramatically increase class interactivity and improve student engagement. As an additional benefit, the system enables both students and instructors to get real-time feedback on class effectiveness. Visit HSU's clicker support pages for an overview, software downloads and other resources.

To help faculty make the most of Moodle, ITS has created a series of video tutorials describing how to use the main functions of the system. Watch the tutorials in high definition on YouTube, featuring closed captioning.

A series of student introduction tutorials has also been created; instructors should encourage their students to view these tutorials if they have not previously interacted with Moodle.

Moodle :: Login Problems

You access Moodle using the myHumboldt portal with your Humboldt State University User Name and password - the same information you use to log in to your HSU email, the computer labs, or any other area of the HSU network. Click the Moodle icon in the upper right-hand corner above your name. If you have trouble logging in, try re-setting your HSU Password in the Account Center.
