Google Apps is not fully compatible with text-to-speech conversion technology, so you may have problems, depending on your level of vision. Google is working to resolve this issue but, in the meantime, you might want to investigate OffiSync for Google Apps, which lets you use Microsoft Word to open and edit Google Docs.
