Faculty Shared Folders are storage areas on the Central Web Server at HSU that allow faculty to store files they want to share with their students (or other HSU faculty. These files can be accessed through a web browser from anywhere with an Internet connection by anyone who has been granted permission to view them.
If you are a faculty member, a Faculty Shared Folder is automatically created inside your HSU Network Folder. When you connect to your Network Folder, you will see a folder that looks like this:
The Faculty Shared Folder is just like any other folder - just place any file you want to be accessible to other HSU users in it You can also create subfolders within your Faculty Shared Folder to help you organize your files.
All HSU users will be able to view files in your Faculty Shared Folder, but only you can make changes to them. Files stored in your Network Folder outside of your Faculty Shared Folder will remain private and inaccessible to other users.
First connect to your HSU Network Folder and follow the appropriate instructions below to locate the appropriate Faculty Shared Folder:
Windows: Look for the "T:"or "faculty" drive under My Computer.
Macintosh OS X: Look for a desktop icon labeled "faculty"
Note that you can only download/view files in a Faculty Shared Folder through your web browser; you can't edit or upload files.
Files stored in a Faculty Shared Folder can be viewed in three ways:
You can navigate through the folders using whichever view is most convenient for you. To see the folders listed by department, double click the _faculty-by-department folder. To see the folders by last name, double click the _faculty-by-name folder.
