Potentially all campus community (on and off campus)
Affected in what way: 
Applications requiring network access may be forced to re-establish connections while network control is pushed to a standby supervisor. This should be seamless for most but not all applications.
Workaround: 
None.
What happened: 
Several core network processes became resource starved, Thursday February 20st at 16:44 causing a localized network outage to one campus building. We are still working to isolate the exact cause and series of events. A forced fail-over will allow us to more closely rule out faulty hardware as a cause.
