Every desktop and laptop at HSU must be scanned for personally-identifiable information, so all IT staff members designated to assist in this process should make themselves available to assist users in their area to scan their system and understand the resulting report.
The primary user of the system is responsible for evaluating the report produced by the scan; this responsibility CANNOT be transferred to an IT staffer. If a computer has multiple users, each user must evaluate the report from the scan conducted on their account on that computer; care must be taken to ensure that one user's files are not exposed to another user.
Use the Protected Information Survey Form  to track which machines have been scanned, as this information is needed to identify and assist those users who need to keep protected information on their systems.
