Before You StartTo connect your Android device to the HSUWireless-Secure network, you'll first need to ensure you're using Android 2.1 or later, so please update your device to the most current version of Android now. |
Connecting to the NetworkThe instructions below use the Motorola Droid X2 for illustrative purposes; your device's screen may look slightly different. Step 1: Press the Menu key on your phone, and then tap Settings.
Step 2: Tap Wireless & networks
Step 3: Tap Wi-Fi settings
Step 4: Tap Add Wi-Fi network
Step 5: Configure your device to connect to the HSUWireless-Secure network as follows:
Note that your device may request a "credential storage" password. If you haven't already set up this Android password, you can do so at this time.
Don't tap Save yet - there are another couple of steps you need to take first.
Step 6: If prompted to do so, accept the certificate for wireless.humboldt.edu |
| Step 7: Open a browser on your device, and you should be connected to the HSUWireless-Secure network automatically. If you have not gone through this set-up process before or have not used this device on campus for more than 30 days, you may be prompted to accept the HSU Appropriate Use Policy. |
Step 8: You can choose to have your device "forget" the regular HSUWireless network and connect only using the HSUWireless-Secure network. Here's how:
Step 9: Locate HSUWireless on the list.
HSUWireless may continue to be displayed as an option, but your device will not try to automatically connect to it.
That's all there is to it! |
