System Status
To connect to the HSUWireless-Secure network, your computer must support the WPA2 security standard, and you must have installed the latest Apple updates.
To update your OS X installation, go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Software Update
You will need an Administrator ID and password to update the OS.
Configuring Your ComputerStep 1: Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the status menu bar. |
| Step 2: Ensure Wi-Fi is turned ON.

| Step 3: Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the status menu bar again and connect the Wi-Fi to HSUWireless if the connection has not already been made automatically.
|
|
Step 4: Open your browser. If you have never used wireless before at HSU, there a couple more one-time steps you may need to take when you first attempt to connect to the wireless network:

| Step 5: Browse to http://www.humboldt.edu/its/secure-wireless-connect-osx-107 if it is not displayed automatically |
| Step 6: Right-click on HSU-User-Owned-Installer select Save Target As or Save Link As.

| Step 7: Save the file to your desktop, making sure to keep the default filename signed-user-owned.mobileconfig. Click the Save button.
|
| Step 8: Locate the file signed-user-owned.mobileconfig you just downloaded to your desktop and open it by double-clicking on it.
|
Step 9: A Profiles window will appear.
Click the Show Profile button |
Step 10: Ensure that the profile is authentic by checking that it:
Click Continue. IMPORTANT: Do not click continue if the profile is not signed by wireless.humboldt.edu AND marked as Verified. |

Step 11: Enter your HSU User Name and Password and click Install to continue.

| Step 12: Enter the Administrative User Name and Password for your computer and click OK.

Step 14: Your computer should now recognize the HSUWireless-Secure network:
Your computer may initially take up to 20 seconds to connect.

| Step 15: Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the Status Menu Bar again and then click Open Network Preferences.
|
| Step 16: Confirm you're connected and click the Advanced button.
|
Step 17: On the Wi-Fi tab, locate the Preferred Networks box and then
Click OK.

| Step 18: Enter your computer's Administrative User Name and Password when prompted, then click OK.
|
| Step 19: Click Apply to save your settings.
|
| Step 20: Close the Network Settings window.
Note: If you have never connected to any HSU network, or you've been away for more than 30 days, you will need to accept the HSU Appropriate Use Policy by signing the document digitally using your HSU User Name and Password. |
