Campus Data Network Jan 8 2011 - 03:00 Any devices connected to wired or wireless networks in Social Sciences 3rd & 4th floors, and Science A 5th floor. All CSU campuses were notified recently of a stability flaw that affected wired network switches at CSU Chico. After O.S. Upgrades on 1/7/11 at 03:00AM, select switches did not return to optimal status. This was caused because one of the switches in these two stacks required a boot loader upgrade whereas the others in the stack did not. This resulted in the preferred master switch reloading twice - once to initiate the image upgrade and the other to initiate the boot loader image upgrade. This caused a backup stack member switch to boot as the master, resulting in sub-optimal L2 forwarding. An additional reload is required.
Account Center Jan 7 2011 - 13:24 Users trying to set their password Service is being restarted. Check back for updates.

Campus Data Network Dec 30 2010 - 01:01 All of the campus community trying to access select electronic resources hosted at HSU. Most servers in the data center connect to a large robust dedicated switch. However, some servers connect to smaller distribution switches directly which need to be upgraded to the latest O.S. release. This outage will only affect 20-30 servers connected to the smaller distribution switches and we will upgrade one switch at a time. These switches are part of the ITRP2 upgrade project and must be addressed prior to the ITRP2 project closeout on Jan. 31st, 2011. Technicians will be on-site to ensure all services are restored no later than 10:00AM. The ITRP2 project charter can be found at http://www.calstate.edu/tis/itrp/itrp2/
Campus Data Network Dec 29 2010 - 08:00 Any persons using wired network devices inside Siemens Hall Building 001. HSU network technicians added the capability for Siemens Hall to switch over to a backup link during the ITRP2 upgrade in October. The final step is to integrate the backup link into the campus core routers and must be done prior to the ITRP2 project closeout on Jan. 31st, 2011.
Campus Data Network Dec 28 2010 - 07:00 All of the campus community. In September 2010, network technicians discovered a misconfiguration in how the campus core routers handled traffic between buildings and to the Internet. While not service impacting, the misconfiguration has the potential to result in sub-optimal network performance during peak usage periods, such as the last three weeks of the academic semester.
