iPhone Configuration Instructions
ActiveSync is the iPhone's native way to sync E-Mail, Contacts, and Calendars with Zimbra Collaboration Suite.
- Tap Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars then Add Account.
- Select Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter your email address (e.g. “abc123@humboldt.edu”) in the Email box.
- Enter your HSU User Name (e.g. “abc123”) in the Username box.
- Enter your password in the Password box.
- Enter a description, such as "HSU Email"
- Tap Next
- If you receive a message about a security certificate, tap Accept.
- The iPhone will now try to automatically discover your Zimbra server. You will need to enter your server information manually. It will prompt you for the following information:
- Server: mail.humboldt.edu
- Tap Next
- Choose which type(s) of data you would like to synchronize: Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
- Tap Save
- Now tap the home button and go into Mail. You should see your new account appear, and it should show your folders and email messages within a few moments. Congratulations! Email is now set up!
Note that by default, only 3 days of email is synchronized. To synchronize more, go into Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select your Exchange account, and tap on Mail days to sync.
