Windows Mobile 6.1 Configuration Instructions
ActiveSync is the program used on Windows Mobile devices to sync E-Mail, Contacts, and Calendars with Zimbra Collaboration Suite.
- Select Start, then Programs.
- Select ActiveSync.
- Select MENU at the Active Sync Screen.
- Select ADD SERVER SOURCE.
- Enter your e-mail address (e.g. abc123@humboldt.edu).
- Uncheck "Attempt to detect Exchange Server settings automatically".
- Select Next.
- Enter the Server address: mail.humboldt.edu.
- Be sure the "This server requires an SSL connection" checkbox is selected.
- Select Next.
- Enter your HSU User Name (e.g. "abc123") in the User name field.
- Enter your password in the Password field.
- Enter your domain as: humboldt.edu
- Be sure the "Save password" checkbox is checked. (You may have to scroll down to see this box)
- Select Next.
- Choose which services you wish to sync (e.g. Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Email).
- Select Finish.
- A Microsoft Exchange Synchronizing screen will appear.
- Wait until the Screen says you are connected to MS Exchange, then you have completed the setup.
- Click the X button in the top, right-hand corner to return to the Home screen.
Once you have made an initial connection, you can choose which of your mail folders to synchronize to the handheld.
- Open the mail/messaging application on your device. Choose "Outlook Email" to view your Exchange mail.
- Press the "Menu" button and select "Folders".
- Press the "Menu" button and select "Show All folders".
- Press the "Menu" button and select "Manage Folders". From this screen, you can choose which folders in your mailbox that you would like to be synced with the Exchange server and displayed on your handheld. Press "Done" when complete.
- Once you've chosen your sync folders, to switch between folders, press "Menu" again, and choose "Folders".
