Video
Students in the broadcast news emphasis take courses such as JMC 156 Introduction to Video Production, where they produce public service announcements and news packages for local television stations.
In the spring 2007, the advanced class JMC 336 Public Affairs Video Production won a CSU Media Arts Festival award for its television magazine program "Insight."
Students in video production work with the latest technology in digital editing.
Radio
Students in JMC 154 Introduction to Radio Production learn to operate the on-air audio board in the student radio station KRFH. Students produce newscasts in JMC 333 Radio News Workshop. Their newscast from April 30, 2009 won the College Broadcasters Inc. award for Best Radio Newscast.
