Positions will be available Fall Semester, 2010. The current stipend is approximately $7,400 per academic year (two semesters). Out-of-state fee waivers may be available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Positions include approximately 15 hours a week in one or a combination of the following: assisting in the teaching of Kinesiology courses; strength and conditioning; administration of intramurals; and assistance in the Human Performance laboratory, Biomechanics laboratory, Anatomy and Physiology laboratory, Motor Learning laboratory, and the Athletic Training room.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT TO SUBSEQUENT SEMESTER:
Satisfactory progress in the graduate program which includes completion of six (6) units per semester and positive evaluations by graduate faculty. Appointments are made on a semester-to-semester basis (two semesters maximum) with reappointment to teaching associate in the second year (two semesters maximum) based on favorable performance reviews, successful academic performance, and continued funding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or related area from an accredited institution.
2. A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 in the last 60 semester units attempted.
3. GRE scores of at least 425 verbal, 425 quantitative, and 3.5 on the writing component.
4. Applicants with previous teaching or laboratory experience will be given preference.
