Kinesiology

What is kinesiology?

Are you looking for an exciting career without the typical 9 to 5 desk job? Are you an active person who likes to help others live a similar healthy lifestyle? Or are you an athlete who wants to help other athletes be the best they can be? Whatever your motivation, a degree in Kinesiology from Humboldt State could be your first step toward a lifetime of fitness and service!

Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement, including work and daily activities, exercise and athletics. Using technical methods and thorough knowledge of the human body and how it works, professionals in our field help people of all ages live healthier lives and resume normal activities following illness or injury. Your education in Kinesiology can lead to a rewarding career as a teacher or coach, clinical researcher, personal trainer, physical therapist, certified athletic trainer, sports physician or one of a variety of related positions.

Humboldt State will get you moving! We offer Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Kinesiology with options in Exercise Science/Wellness Management, Pre-Physical Therapy or Teaching/Coaching. Through close collaboration with our faculty and hands-on learning outside the classroom, you'll be well-prepared for success as a health professional.
