Scholarships for New HSU students

Elmo Moore Memorial Mathematics Scholarship: $1,000 awarded twice a year to a full-time enrolled Mathematics or Mathematics educations major with a minimum 2.0 GPA with preference given to 1) Native American students, 2) incoming freshmen and 3) students with financial need, making satisfactory academic progress..

Harry S. Kieval Mathematics Scholarship for Transfer Students: $400 for outstanding mathematics performance at a 2-year college in preparation to transfer to Humboldt State University.

 

Scholarships for Current HSU students

Harry S. Kieval Mathematics Scholarship: $1,500 to the outstanding senior mathematics major or $2,000 to be divided between two outstanding senior Mathematics majors.

Michael Tucker Mathematics Scholarship: $500 to an outstanding junior or senior Mathematics major.

Travis Jepsen Memorial Mathematics Scholarship: $500 award to a full-time enrolled Mathematics major with a GPA of 3.0 or better and demonstrated financial need, and making satisfactory academic progress.

Dr. Orval M. Klose Mathematics Scholarship: $500 award to a full-time enrolled sophomore, junior or senior Mathematics major with a 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrated financial need, and making satisfactory academic progress. .

Robert S. Chambers Mathematics Scholarship: $500 awards to enrolled to a full-time undergraduate Mathematics major with a 3.0 GPA or better, meeting financial need based on FAFSA and making satisfactory academic progress.

Latika Patel Graduate Mathematics Scholarship: $500 to an full-time (9 units) enrolled Masters student in the area of mathematics. Minimum 3.0 GPA, making satisfactory academic progress. Does not require financial need.

 

Special Programs

California Coast Noyce Scholars Program for Prospective Secondary Math Teachers: Up to five $10,000 awards to seniors or credential candidates preparing to earn a CA Single Subject Credential in Mathematics.  See http://www.humboldt.edu/hsmc/ccns/ for more information.

CSU Assumption Program of Loans for Education (APLE) Program: Up to $19,000 payback of student loans if you teach mathematics in California. See www.csusuccess.org/aple.
