Scholarships for New HSU students

Elmo Moore Memorial Mathematics Scholarship: $1,000 awarded twice a year with preference given to 1) Native American students, 2) incoming freshmen and 3) students with financial need. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

Harry S. Kieval Mathematics Scholarship for Transfer Students: $400 for outstanding mathematics performance at a 2-year college in preparation to transfer to Humboldt State University. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

Scholarships for Current HSU students

Harry S. Kieval Mathematics Scholarship: $1,500 to the outstanding senior mathematics major or $2,000 to be divided between two outstanding senior Mathematics majors. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

William Blan and Taavi Taijala

Michael Tucker Mathematics Scholarship: $500 to an outstanding junior or senior Mathematics major. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

Michael Martin

Travis Jepsen Memorial Mathematics Scholarship: $500 award to a full-time enrolled Mathematics major with a GPA of 3.0 or better and demonstrated financial need. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

James Kloore, Josh Peterson and Melissa Wyatt

Dr. Orval M. Klose Mathematics Scholarship: $500 award to a sophomore or junior Mathematics major with a 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrated financial need. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

Robert S. Chambers Mathematics Scholarship: $500 awards to enrolled Mathematics majors with a 3.0 GPA or better. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

Amber (Lani) Abels and Kimberly Gutstein

 

Latika Patel Graduate Mathematics Scholarship: $500 to an enrolled Masters student in the area of mathematics. Minimum 3.0 GPA, doesn?t require financial need. This year's scholarship was awarded to:

Jing Cao

 

Prizes and Contests

The v du Prize for outstanding performance in the first year calculus course. This year's prize was awarded to:

Spring 2010: Erin Altick, Isral Konopa, Paul Sereno, Benjamin Stern, Lebn Yudell

Fall 2010: Shelly Dean, Kimberly Gutstein, David Smith, Cody Tripp, Lianna Winkler Prins
