Theater isn't just about creative expression on stage. For Kevin Daum, marketing and sales is a special form of theater. Kevin graduated from Humboldt State in 1986 with a B.A. in Theater Arts. He has since written several articles on marketing and the managerial relationship between entrepreneurship and the arts.

Along with his writing skills, Kevin has also proven to be a very successful marketer, salesman and Inc. 500 entrepreneur. In 1989 Kevin created a unique comprehensive customer experience in the mortgage industry founding Stratford Financial Services.

Recognizing the value of niche marketing Daum focused Stratford's efforts toward the custom-home construction lending market and grew the company to Inc 500 status. Kevin became an expert in the industry, writing multiple magazine columns and authoring books including Roar! Get Heard in the Sales and Marketing Jungle (Wiley) and What the Banks Won't Tell You (Grady Parsons).

Kevin later addressed the green customer interests with his book Green Home, Green Pockets: How to Pay for and Profit From 50 Green Home Projects (Tauton) and is working on a new book addressing the broader customer experience called Pursuing the Awesome Experience; Eliminating Mediocrity for Yourself, Your Company and Your Customer.

TAE International, Kevin's latest company, just launched www.RecessionFirstAid.com to help companies make it through these tumultuous economic times. It is a 60-day intensive package designed to help companies stay afloat even with reduced labor and budgets.

Always working to help other people succeed, Kevin is active at the international level with the Young Entrepreneurs Organization and has opened a Bay Area Chapter of YEO.

Kevin was listed as one of the 40 Most Influential People Under 40 in the San Francisco Bay Area after opening a successful dinner theatre. In 2006 Humboldt State named him Distinguished Alum of the Year. "I felt this honor and event to be a culmination and validation of the HSU gift of knowledge and experience that has been such a rich foundation for who I have grown to be as a part of society," said Kevin at the ceremony.

Even with all the work Daum engages in, he still finds time to regularly kayak fish at his New England beach home with his wife of 22 years, Deanna, and his 17-year-old artist son, Spencer.
