Humboldt is my home, after years out of school working HSU became too attractive an opportunity to pass up. I attended UCSC at 19 years old and found the campus too large and classes too crowded. HSU has been a better fit, making relating with professors a reality.
I don't have an iPod. My shuffle broke two years ago.
Miley Cyrus or Shakira are in my iTunes, depends on who's judging me.
I ride mountain bikes and road bikes year round. The back country riding here is superb, demanding and scenic. I love it.
I will always remember the intimacy of the classroom experiences here. The campus feels more like a family then larger institutions. After a year at UCSC, the crowded lectures just weren't for me. HSU has allowed me to meet and interact with my instructors in a meaningful way.
I am passionate about producing results. I enjoy projects that benefit individuals and our community, there is always something to do.
There are so many incredible outdoor locations in our county. I enjoy the Jacoby Creek watershed and Trinidad beaches a lot. Of course in the summer the Trinity River is the place to be.
My work with the HSU Cycling team has and will be my standout experience at HSU. We are in the midst of growing a program that is turning heads around the country. Getting involved with cultivating a project that I deeply care about and can benefit others is a wonderful opportunity.
At the rate that we are discovering new planets outside our solar system scientists estimate that some 400 billion earth like planets exist in our galaxy alone. The probability of intelligent life outside our solar system is far less remote than once believed.
Travel out of country, then work for myself. Teetering between law school and opening my own business, we'll see how the economy looks for startups in 2013.
Business Stats if I chose by subject matter, I'm a dork for data evaluation.
Lynette Chen. She has passion for teaching, a sharp wit, and addresses all questions equally. I think of her as a linguistic samurai, a beautiful mind capable of piercing observations. First took "Legal Environment of Business" with her and followed it up with "Business Law" and then "Logic".
School is as easy or as hard as you want it to be, but it is always a fantastic opportunity that should be counted as a blessing on good days and bad days. It won't get cheaper, enjoy being here now.
Immediately following finals I headed up to Oregon to teach a three day Mountain Bike Guide Training through North Coast Adventure Centers. We visited a rural school for at risk youth in beautiful central oregon where we spent several days riding teaching, empowering, and meeting some wonderful teens.
