redwood treesCome enjoy the picturesque California North Coast during the 2008 Region 9 NAI Spring Workshop in Eureka, Calif., March 7, 8 and 9. This year, the Region 9 Workshop will be held overlooking Humboldt Bay and beneath the majestic coastal redwoods of Northern California. The theme for this year’s workshop is "Big Trees and Big Ideas: Growing a Profession for the 21st Century."

Staying true to this theme, the keynote speaker will be internationally renowned interpreter Dr. Sam Ham. In addition, the newly elected President for NAI, Jim Covel, will also provide some insight into his agenda for NAI for the year to come.

Come early and stay late to enjoy a variety of field trips that showcase the area. Pre-conference field trips will be available on Thursday, March 6 and post-conference self-guided trips Sunday afternoon March 9, for those wishing to explore the rich natural and cultural resources of this area.

The 2008 Region 9 Spring Workshop will offer concurrent sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday featuring presentations and a poster session.

Enjoy a "Taste of Humboldt" and reconnect with friends and colleagues. In addition, we will spend Saturday afternoon on a special hike exploring the coast's big trees followed by an evening around a campfire with good food and drink and an auction to cap it off.

Bring your ideas and your raingear, and we'll see you in the redwoods.
