Magical History Tour

Step back in time over a hundred years with a series of easy-paced walking tours through three local communities. Explore and learn about these historical hotspots: downtown Loleta, Arcata’s Greenwood Cemetery, and Old Town Eureka. Join historian and author Jerry Rhode for:

  • From Creamery to Screamery: learn how Loleta changed from a dairy town to the site of Halloween 4

  • The Tales Beneath the Headstone: explore Arcata’s Greenwood Cemetery

  • A Hot Time in Old Town in Broad Daylight: discover north of Fourth in Eureka

The first meeting will be in a classroom preparing for our afternoon ambles by viewing an introductory slideshow, “Around the Coast in 80,000 Words,” with images from the area’s past.

The next three classes will start in their respective communities and class members will need to arrange for their own transportation to each location.

THIS CLASS IS FULL.
