The Moodle Servers are Going Away Very Soon!

November 8, 2017

The Moodle Courses server will be placed in archive mode at the end of this semester, along with all the Moodle Learn servers. This means you'll only be able to retrieve materials by submitting a Technology Help Desk ticket. The Moodle Learn server which specifically houses courses from Summer and Fall 2012 will be closed down at the end of this semester; any course materials on this server will be unavailable after the end of December 2017, so you must retrieve anything you want before that date.
If you have an ongoing course or Moodle site on the Courses server that's not yet been moved to another solution, the project team recommends the following alternatives:

  • Google team drive (which offers collaboration, unlimited storage, and user permissions to define roles)
  • SkillPort for various training opportunities (which offers online sign-up, email reminders to attendees, printed certificates on completion)
  • Departmental websites for materials that are public-facing.

Need help moving your materials out of Moodle? Just submit a Technology Help Desk ticket and help will be on the way.
