15-99/00-SA WHEREAS, In Spring 1999 the Academic Senate of Humboldt State University approved revised Student Grievance Procedures which contained provisions for filing complaints against faculty, staff and administrators regarding discrimination and unprofessional conduct or issues not related to discrimination; and
WHEREAS, That procedures document was returned to the campus by the Office of General Counsel of the CSU with the result that complaints of discrimination and unprofessional conduct against faculty, staff and administrators are to be treated under a separate procedures document from complaints not related to discrimination and unprofessional conduct; and
WHEREAS, The Student Grievance Policies document has been revised extensively, resulting in a draft Grievance Policy and Procedures for Students Filing Complaints other than Discrimination and Unprofessional Conduct Against Faculty, Staff, and Administrators; and
WHEREAS, A separate policy and procedures document will address complaints of discrimination and unprofessional conduct against faculty, staff and administrators; therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of Humboldt State University approve the revised Grievance Policy and Procedures for Students Filing Complaints Other Than Discrimination and Unprofessional Conduct Against Faculty, Staff, and Administrators, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of Humboldt State University recommend the development, with Academic Senate participation, of a separate Grievance Policy and Procedures for Students Filing Complaints of Discrimination and Unprofessional Conduct Against Faculty, Staff, and Administrators.
