VPAA 13-02 In order to promote HSU’s strategic focus on online learning opportunities and education technology enhanced instruction, HSU renamed the Office of Distance and Extended Education to the "College of eLearning and Extended Education" effective March 1, 2013.
The new name is easily recognizable and emphasizes HSU’s commitment to lead in the field of educational technology. The main reasons to adopt the word “eLearning” instead of “Distance” or “Online” are: 1) to distinguish HSU from Cal-State Online; 2) to emphasize our approach of utilizing emerging education technology in course development.
Please ensure relevant documents, messages, websites, etc., reflect the name change.
