Brief Biography:

|
Dr. Campbell grew up in Berkeley, left town for 3 years to attend Robert Louis Stevenson School, and then returned to do his undergraduate work
at UC Berkeley. He graduated with a major in psychology. He then moved across the bay to enter the Industrial Psychology Program at
San Francisco State University. After receiving his M.S. degree, he headed to Texas for four years of doctoral work. This resulted in a Ph.D.
from the University of Houston in industrial-organizational psychology. He topped this off with a year of post-doc work in the Behavioral
Ecology Program at the Institute for Rehabilitation and Research, a part of the Texas Medical Center. The next year, he joined the faculty
at the University of Kansas where he taught and conducted research in ecological and environmental psychology.
After several years of “the midwest experience,” Dr. Campbell returned to the west coast where he joined the faculty at Humboldt State
University as an Associate Professor. His primary teaching responsibilities were in industrial-organizational psychology but he continued
his research interests in behavior-environment relationships. While at Humboldt, he has prepared and taught over twenty different
courses in psychology and business. Course topics have ranged from Psychology Through Science Fiction to Production-Operations
Management, the Psychology of Play, and Social Policy in Environmental Resource Management. He also has chaired or served
on a variety of university committees and has volunteered his time in community service projects.
When not on campus, Dr. Campbell can often be found in the Santa Cruz area where he spends much of his time.
