Recreational Sports Employment

Intramural Sports Officials

The Recreational Sports Program hires 10 to 15 officials every semester. We are looking for students who have time to commit two to eight hours per week working as an official and to attending three to four evening trainings per semester. The trainings will consist of meeting with the other officials who are working in your sport and discussing rules, policy, mechanics, and how to handle difficult situations. We are looking for responsible, self-motivated individuals who can take criticism, apply feedback, and have a desire to be challenged and continually improve.

Complete the application (a new browser window will open, Acrobat Reader required) and drop it by the Recreational Sports Office and make an appointment to see Eliot Baker, Assistant Director, on or before the first day of the semester for which you are applying.

Drop-In Supervisors

The Recreational Sports Office is looking for responsible students that posses strong communication skills and a positive attitude. The Drop-In Supervisors open facilities, check ID's, monitor the safety of participants, write reports as needed, and secure facilities.

Complete the application (a new browser window will open, Acrobat Reader required) drop it by the Recreational Sports Office and make an appointment to see Jan Henry, Director.

Special Event Hosts

The Recreational Sports Office is looking for a few good students who can lift 50 pounds or more and can work occassional evenings and weekends.

The host is responsible for assisting activity groups who have reserved our facilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, unlocking facilities, helping with set up of event, supervising the activity, and securing the facility when the event is completed. Fill out the application, drop it by the Recreational Sports Office, and make an appointment to see Jan Henry, Director.
