GRADE MODE DEFINITIONS

GRADE MODE - THIS CODE IDENTIFIES WHAT GRADING OPTION IS PERMITTED FOR EACH STUDENT.

N   NORMAL GRADE - Standard Letter Grades (A - F). Pluses and minuses are recorded and affect the grade point average by adding .3 for a plus and subtracting .3 for a minus.

A,D   AUDIT/REMEDIAL AUDIT - The student has enrolled as an Auditor and any grade assigned will be   converted to an AU, audit grade.

C   CREDIT/NO CREDIT GRADE - Undergraduate, unclassified post-baccalaureate, and second bachelor's degree student - if the student earns a grade of A, B, C or C-, the student will receive a grade of CR, Credit. If the student earns a grade of D+ or below, the student will receive a grade of NC, No Credit.

A graduate student in a master's degree program or a credential-seeking student - if the student earns a grade of A, B or B-, the student will receive a grade of CR, Credit. If the student earns a grade of C+ or below, the student will receive a grade of NC, No Credit.

PLEASE NOTE FOR CR/NC MODE ONLY: FACULTY HAS THE OPTION OF RECORDING EITHER THE LETTER GRADE OR THE CR OR NC GRADE ON THE GRADE ROSTER. The system will automatically convert the letter grade to the appropriate CR/NC grade based on the rule for the student level.

R   REMEDIAL NORMAL GRADE - The course is a remedial course and faculty will assign a normal grade.

M   REMEDIAL CREDIT/NO CREDIT - The course is a remedial course and is only allowed to have a CR or NC grade assigned.
