The Rainbow Community is designed as an intentional living community affirming the cultural experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, non-identifying, and questioning residents as well as their allies. The community also functions as gender-free housing. It allows same sex/gender roommates, opposite sex/gender roommates, or other sex/gender-identity roommate pairings. Residents who have not already chosen a roommate can elect to be assigned a roommate who is also interested in gender-free housing options.

    Minimum Requirements to be a LLCA
  • Candidate must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.25 at the time we hire you
  • Candidate must have lived one year on campus while attending Humboldt State University or other equivalent experiences

Note: Exemptions to these minimum requirements may be made by the Assistant Director of Residence Life, Housing + Dining Services or his/her designee without any prior notification.

Obtain two recommendations

Have two online recommendation forms submitted on your behalf. Recommendations should be professional or academic references that can speak to your ability to manage the position you are applying for. A few examples are current or former employers, supervisors, instructors, university staff members, and/or Residence Life Staff, including student staff members. These recommendations can be easily completed online:

Individual interview

Applicants who successfully meet the minimum requirement will be invited to take part in an Individual interview.
