What's going on in your community? In Residence Life our events are called programs. Your Community Advocates, Living Learning Community Advisors and councils organize fun and educational programs for you to attend. With nearly 400 events occurring each year, there's something for everyone. There is always something to do in the residence halls and it usually involves free food. Check out our Calendar of Events and never let boredom get the best of you.
Every week in your residence hall there is a community get-together hosted by your Community Advocate. Join your community for games, movies, food and fun. Give your Community Advocate ideas for activities you’d like to do during Community Time.
Resident Housing Association
The Resident Housing Association is the umbrella council, overseeing the other listed councils. RHA is dedicated to serving the residence hall community with leadership and education. RHA meets every Monday at 6pm in the Mad River Room. For more information you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org
For specific interests such as social justice, mental health, or video games you may want to check out a satellite council. Satellite councils are interest based groups that meet weekly to plan programs, propose housing policy changes, develop education campaigns and form social networks. These councils are a great way to find friends with similar passions and impact change in the residence halls, on campus and in the local community.
Each Living Area (i.e. The Canyon, The Hill, Cypress, Creekview, Campus Apartments, and College Creek) has its very own area council. These groups plan awesome events for each individual area. Not only are area councils fun, they also provide an excellent place for residence to get involved. Area councils always meet on Tuesdays at 7pm. Ask your Community Advocates for further details.
