Internet service for Humboldt State University residents is provided, at no additional charge, by the ResNet networking system. ResNet is available via Ethernet (wired) and WiFi (wireless) connections throughout the resident halls.
Although Humboldt State University does provides free wireless internet access to all HSU students, this access is intended and tailored for academic use only. ResNet, on the other hand, is designed with “at home” internet usage in mind. Residents at Humboldt State University may use ResNet to connect their desktop computers, laptops, smart phones, tablets, and even gaming console to the internet for both academic and recreational use.
Through ResNet, residents may work on class computing assignments with students both on and off campus, use HSU Library resources, correspond with professors, family, and friends, or setup and maintain a personal webpage. ResNet is high speed (100Mbps) and available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
