What do you like most about HSU?
HSU is a great place to work. The organizational culture is very welcoming and housing is like a family. Additionally, HSU students are extremely engaged and student apathy is relatively low. They produce some of the most innovative and socially-conscious ideas I’ve seen on a college campus.
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
I’m an outdoor enthusiast and Humboldt is my playground. Backpacking is probably my favorite activity because there is a lot of wilderness to see here.

What do you like most about HSU?
HSU values the diversity, and is a very welcoming and friendly campus.
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
I am still exploring and finding the things to do in Humboldt. So far, I like to spend time at beach and walk in Arcata! I know – I need hobbies

I have been in Humboldt for 7 years!!! EEK! 5 of those years I attended Humboldt as a student and 2 years as an RLC.

What do you like most about HSU?
We have the most challenging but compassionate student body in the world.
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
Sit by the river and read a good book.

I received my B.A. degree in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Idaho and my M.S. degree is College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University.
What do you like most about HSU?
The atmosphere is both inviting and challenges me in terms of my professional development. It is a great combination, supplemented by an institution committed to social justice and sustainability.
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
Take it in... As living here thus far has really challenged me to be more in the present, I have really enjoyed exploring the area. Whether by camping in an area surrounded by the beautiful and giant Redwoods, exploring the towns of Arcata and Eureka during one of the many festivals, or taking in a minor league baseball game with good company, my favorite thing so far has just been to take advantage of some very different opportunities to interact with the community and surrounding area.

I have been here since June 2012.
Where did you get your degree(s)?
I received my B.A. in Black Studies and Women's Studies from the University of California- Santa Barbara and I received my M.S. in Education with an emphasis in Higher Education from California State University Fullerton.
What do you like most about HSU?
I just love the welcoming campus community dedicated to issues of social justice and sustainability. The smaller campus size makes me feel at home. Plus, it's absolutely beautiful out here!
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
I'm still exploring the area, but so far I have maintained my hobbies of shopping and checking out the arts =)

I received my undergraduate in Secondary Education: Broad-Field Social Studiesfrom The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2006 and my Masters in Theology from Fergus Falls Lutheran Brethren Seminary in 2009
What do you like most about HSU?
The natural surroundings make it hard to not enjoy being here. I love being nestled between theredwoods and rising hills and the sea.However on top of the beauty of the areait has been a pleasure to jump into a culture unlike any other I've lived in before and find it both welcoming and engaging. The students and staff here have a desire to create a healthy campus that is bothenvironmentally friendly and socially active
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
I enjoy going down to the beach to write or going anywhere in the area to hike and sight see.

I have been at HSU since January of 2012.

My B.A. is in Intercultural Studies from Biola Univeristy.
My M.S. Ed. is in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.What do you like most about HSU?
HSU has unique emphases on social justice and environmental responsibility that are not found at other institutions. Professional development is also supported and encouraged.
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
My favorite thing to do in Humboldt is to visit Agate Beach at Patrick's Point State Park. It's beautiful! I never know if what I'm finding are actually agates, but I still have fun looking. It's also a great place to collect shells and driftwood, and to see starfish.

I have been here just a few months!
Where did you get your degree(s)?
I received my undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University. Recently, I finished my master's degree in Social Responsibility from St. Cloud State University.
What do you like most about HSU?
I enjoy learning something new everyday - it's also such a naturally beautiful area!
Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
I have recently been introduced to the wonderful world of Frisbee Golf! There are so many wonderful outdoor opportunities in the area!

How long have you been at HSU?
I am working on my 6th year at HSU; this is my second year as a professional staff member.
Where did you get your degree(s)?
I got my degree at HSU in Journalism, with an emphasis in Public Relations and area of study in Graphic Design. I also minored in French & Francophone studies.
What do you like most about HSU?
I love how well-connected the community is here, and the diversity it provides on campus considering the small size of the area. I have made life-long relationships with people
that I don't think I would have made in a large city. I also love how much the area has to offer in turns of outdoor activities.Your favorite thing to do in Humboldt?
Walking on the beach, going on hikes, and going out with my friends!
