Total Program Cost (see table below) consists of the following components:
Application: refundable only if not accepted or the program cancels. See refund policy for complete details.
Tuition: includes academic credit and administrative costs.
Transportation: includes most (but not all) ground transportation in Guatemala. Participant is responsible for airfare to/from Guatemala, and also short public transortation and/or taxi on your own. Detailed description in program syllabus.
Travel Abroad Medical Insurance: required for study abroad programs. Includes medical evacuation and repatriation coverage. Purchase directly from Wells Fargo Insurances Services (contact information will be provided after application is accepted).
Lodging: covers residencies in Abtigua, Tikal, El Mirador, Ixobel, Panajachel and San Pedro la Laguna. Includes camping and some stays at hotels/hostels.
Academic: includes course readers, camping fees, hiking permits, the group library, first aid supplies, photocopying, water filters and miscellaneous expenses.
Meals: purchase on your own in Guatemala. Estimate $15/day.
Incidentals: costs for laundry, snacks, film, etc. Suggested amount is $200.
