2012 SLAMFest

The Sustainable Living, Arts and Music Coalition is hosting a Sustainability Conference we are calling SLAMFest. This year’s event will be held on April 21st, 2012 on various locations on the University's campus. The purpose of this event is to celebrate our belief that sustainable living, art, technology and music are all inextricably linked together in shaping our culture and hope for a brighter future.

Event Summary

This year, The Sustainable Living, Arts and Music Festival (SLAMfest) will be a FREE one day, all day gathering of the campus and community created around the intention of sharing sustainable practices, various forms of expression and local music. We will explore through, hands on activities, workshops, documentary screenings, demonstrations, booth/tabling opportunities (for both the community and campus), keynote speakers and an evening festival with local music, live art and performances.

Activities will be based around sustainable topics such as:

  • Campus Best Practices, (i.e. our recycling program)
  • Balancing Economics, the Environment and Social Equity
  • Food Practices and Agriculture
  • Business and Green Job Opportunities
  • Water Issues
  • Energy/Solar
  • Recycling
  • Art and Creative Expression
  • Music
