Located on the university campus, the Student Recreation Center's (SRC)  purpose is to enrich the opportunity for on-campus physical activity through drop-in recreation, group fitness classes, indoor climbing, personal training, and special events.

Our Facilities

 

Student Recreation Center

This fitness center features an extensive strength training/ weight room area, a cardio training area with a variety of exercise equipment (including ADA accessible machines), and a 46-foot climbing wall with bouldering area. The Student Recreation Center is located near the Kinesiology & Athletics Building.

 

SRC West

This smaller and more intimate facility featuring strength and cardio training areas and a bouldering wall. The Student Recreation Center West is located between the Forbes and West Gyms.

 

Climbing Walls

Both the SRC and the SRC West have a climbing wall as their centerpiece. In the SRC there is a bouldering area as well as seven roped climbs as tall as 46’ high. This facility offers basic climbing instruction for those new to the sport. The SRC West features a bouldering only wall. The unique features on this wall allow for an exciting and unique challenge. Both facilities offer all the rental gear you need for climbing. Both walls are available for private rental. Need climbing gear? Check out the Indoor Climbing page for information.

 

Indoor Field Space

The indoor field is used for jogging, intramural and sport clubs practice, athletics practice, special events, drop-in recreation, and private rentals.

 

Rent our Space

 

The indoor field house and the climbing wall are available for rent. Reservations must be made in advance and turned in at the information desk underneath the HSU Bookstore.  For fee information and reservations, please contact the Campus Events Services office by emailing ces@humboldt.edu

Climbing: We offer an Introduction to Indoor Rock Climbing class designed as an introduction to the sport of rock climbing with an emphasis on climbing for enjoyment and health. No experience necessary. Offered on a weekly basis.

Eligibility & Fees

 

HSU Students:

HSU student ID required for SRC use.

Fall/Spring: $63 per semester (included in tuition fees).

Summer: $63 summer session,  $25 for one month, or $10 for one day

 

Continuing HSU Students:

Current enrollment and photo ID is required.

Fall/Spring: $63 per semester, $25 for one month, or $10 for one

 

Extended Education Students:

Current enrollment and photo ID is required.

Fall/Spring/Summer: $73 per semester, $28 for one month, or $10 for one day

 

Faculty / Staff:

Current employment* and photo ID is required for SRC use.

Annual pass $250 per year, $95 per semester, $35 per month, or $10 per day

Healthy-U Pass (limited use from 12pm - 2pm Monday - Friday) $35 per semester

 

Alumni Association Member:

Must be a member of the Alumni Association in order to purchase an SRC membership and photo ID is required for SRC use.

$120 per semester, $45 per month, or $10 per day

 

Sponsored Individual (Guest):

Must be accompanied by valid member and photo ID is required for SRC use.

$10 single use visit

 

 

*Emeritus Faculty and Emeritus Staff are allowed.
