Projects involving collection or sampling at the Marsh must have a nature area use permit approved by the City. Winners will provide a summary of their research results to FOAM in a mutually agreed-upon format (report, poster, exhibit, newsletter article, etc.).
“The purpose of FOAM is to stimulate understanding of the Arcata Marsh
& Wildlife Sanctuary, its relationship with Arcata’s integrated wastewater
treatment system, the surrounding watersheds and bay, and their link with the
Earth’s water cycle.”
Funding for this grant comes from the estate of
Sylvia Fisher, who made a bequest to FOAM on behalf of her late son, Marcus,
who enjoyed visiting the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary
