Outstanding Professor Award List Outstanding Professor Award Criteria The primary criterion for selection of the recipient of Humboldt State University's Outstanding Professor Award is a record of superlative teaching. no amount of professional achievement, as evidenced by research and creative scholarship, or service to the campus or community, shall substitute for this essential requirement. A significant part of each nominee's record of teaching accomplishments shall have been established while a faculty member of the California State University. In cases where nominees are perceived as equal in teaching excellence, then contributions to the campus, community, and profession also will be considered, with greatest weight being given to those activities that are directly relevant to the nominee's primary role as an educator. All documentation supplied by nominator/nominee shall include a description of the type of evidence used as a basis for judgment. Letters and evaluative statements shall identify the writer and be submitted to the Faculty Awards Committee, via the Faculty Senate Office, Gist Hall #101.
