Scholar of the Year Award Criteria

The Scholar of the Year award recognizes current Humboldt State University faculty who through their past research and creative projects have made significant contribution locally, nationally, and internationally in their field of specialization. The Scholar of the Year will be asked to present a general University lecture during the Fall semester, and is awarded a cash stipend.

Documentation

The documentation submitted in support of a nomination should include:

• Brief nomination letter, outlining the rationale for the nomination

• Three references outside of HSU who can evaluate the nominee's scholarly research and creative projects.

All documentation supplied by nominator/nominee be submitted to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, Siemens Hall #130. The Advisory Board for Research and Creative Projects will obtain backgroud information for each candidate and screen the nominations. The 2005 Scholar of the Year will be announced in early May.
