Subject: Fall
2008 Interdisciplinary Computing Lab and Smart Classroom Information
The staff of Desktop IT and Smart Classrooms would like to give you a preview
of major upgrades and changes being planned for fall 2008 implementation.
In addition, there are a number of facility changes that may affect course
scheduling.
The
latest Windows and Macintosh operating systems, Vista and Leopard, are
scheduled for distribution in the fall. However, as with any major operating
system upgrade, we need your input to determine how feasible these upgrades
will be for your academic programs. Vista and Leopard will be available
on two workstations for testing purposes in GH218 by February 29th.
We appreciate your feedback on these installations.
Testing results of currently installed software with Vista and Leopard will
be available by February 29th, we have also included links to other software
test sites below.

Updates to the standard software image will be posted on the Desktop IT web
site at, http://www.humboldt.edu/~ac/software/.
Harry Griffith Hall is scheduled to be available for the fall term. There
will be three Smart Classrooms and one Interdisciplinary Computer Lab. When
scheduling for fall, please contact Jane Fusek, jf5@humboldt.edu.
If you have any questions or input, please contact me at ext. 4207 or by

very much for your time.
