RESOLUTION ON VARIABLE FEES FOR SUMMER 2000 (#10-98/99-EX)
WHEREAS, Humboldt State University will implement a year-round calendar commencing Summer 2000 with a target of 500 FTEs; and
WHEREAS, The Year Round Operation Work Party has recommended a variable fee model designed to provide financial incentive for student enrollment in multiple courses in Summer 2000 and from which to build a base so that the campus may be able to return to the usual state university fee structure in later summer terms; therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of Humboldt State University concurs with the Year Round Operation Work Party recommendation to seek permission from the Chancellor to charge variable fees during the Summer 2000 term; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of Humboldt State University recommend that any variable fee model which might be used in the Summer 2000 term be evaluated by the Academic Affairs Budget Committee and the University Budget Office during Fall 2000 to determine its effectiveness in encouraging student enrollment while maintaining financial stability.
