Although Humboldt State University is a publicly supported institution, contributions from private sources are becoming increasingly important. Charitable gifts from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations provide resources that enhance faculty and academic programs, provide scholarships for students, and secure funds for capital and equipment that keep the university current and connected to the world with the best resources available in education.
The Office of University Advancement provides philanthropic leadership and program services to help Humboldt State University achieve its greatest goals. The Advancement group currently conducts four annual campaigns, facilitates major gifts and planned gifts, and directs the university’s vital alumni relations program.
Humboldt State University has recently formalized the Humboldt State University Advancement Foundation, organized as a 501(c)(3) California nonprofit corporation and dedicated philanthropic auxiliary of The California State University. The Advancement Foundation is dedicated to increasing private funding and effectively managing the university’s endowment, currently valued at over $16 million.
