HSU Advancement Foundation
The Advancement Foundation was created to provide Humboldt State University with the expertise, fiduciary oversight, and advocacy to increase charitable giving from alumni and friends of the university. The Advancement Foundation Board is comprised of 18 exemplary board members who support the university and recognize the need to expand opportunities for philanthropic success. The Foundation Board's primary goals are to increase charitable giving and manage the university's endowment, currently valued at over $16 million.

The Board meets quarterly and each member serves on a committee to leverage their personal and professional experience. Gwynna Morris, Vice President for Beacom Construction, is the new HSUAF chair, succeeding Mike Fielding, the founding chair, who had served since 2004 and is a retired senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers. President Richmond said, "HSU is indebted to Mike Fielding for his leadership and devoted work to the Advancement Foundation, which will contribute to the University’s future for many years to come. And Gwynna Morris is ideally suited by her experience to assume the leadership mantle of the Board of Trustees."
The Humboldt State University Advancement Foundation legally incorporated March 16, 2004. The Foundation is a dedicated auxiliary of The California State University and a 501 (c ) 3 California nonprofit corporation.
